CLAV POMEGRANATE Extract: with valuable ellagic acid

The pomegranate, or Punica granatum, is a delicious stone fruit that originates from the West-Central Asian region. It has been known since ancient times in many cultures as a food, stimulant and remedy. Nowadays, a lot of research is being done on the super fruit pomegranate, so in recent years numerous nutritional studies have been published on the pomegranate and its ingredients.

Pomegranates contain valuable minerals such as calcium, iron, potassium and magnesium, as well as Vitamin B and folic acid. These nutrients of the pomegranate support our body in its functions.

In addition, the pomegranate contains a dose of antioxidants, such as Vitamin E and ellagic acid, many times higher than, for example, blueberry or grape juice. These antioxidants accumulate mainly in the inedible peel.

Ellagic acid is a so-called polyphenol with antioxidant effect, which can support our body in its functions. Ellagic acid is also an important secondary plant pigment responsible for the pomegranate's vibrant red color.
